Being a hime gyaru can get expensive. Here are some tips we hope will help you save money while still getting to enjoy every aspect of the hime gyaru life.
1. DIY
This is the biggest money saving tip out there.
If you can make it yourself, do.
Most hime gyaru accessories you can buy out there are super easy to make. We have some great DIY projects posted already so check those out. All you need to make pretty much anything hime gyaru style are pink paint, lace, fake roses, pearls, and ribbon. Don't know to to sew? No problem! Let hot glue be your best friend.
Want a hime gyaru purse? Check out ebay and/or your local thrift stores for cheap white or pink bags that'll be easy to glue things to. You don't have to worry if the bags aren't white or pink, a few coats of fabric paint can take care of that.
The same goes for mirrors, baskets, etc.
Etsy is great resource for decoden supplies like cute charms. If you don't want to order charms online again, check out your local thrift stores or Forever21 for necklaces, brooches, and/or earrings that you could use instead. Charms can be detached from necklaces easily with a pair of pliers. It's also easy to break off the back of stud earrings with a pair of pliers.
2. CHECK OUT THE SALE SECTION

3. BUY MULTIPURPOSE ITEMS
This doesn't mean just buy items that are specified for more than one use; bags, for example, can double as room decorations. Figure out ways to incorporate your favorite bags, accessories, shoes, umbrella, whatever into your room decor to save money on well, room decorations.
4. INVEST IN SOME BASIC ITEMS
We know you're going to order some clothes from MA*RS, La Parfait, and/or Jesus Diamante because they're so cute. They're also really expensive. Try limiting your purchases to items that you can't replicate. When it comes to ordering from MA*RS, a good thing to invest in might be one of their signature print dresses. With that as a base for your outfit, you can accessorize with tights and a cardigan from pretty much anywhere.
We recommend against ordering expensive cardigans. Why? It's easy to turn a basic cardigan into a hime gyaru style one by simply sewing a bow onto each pocket of the cardigan. It also only requires a few stitches per bow.
